About my cookware and a flat top stove?

I just bought a new flat top stove and before I start using it I want to find out if my cookware will keep it protected. I have hard anodized pans that have circle ridges on the bottoms (I hope that makes sense) and from what I have read the stove really should only be used with flat cookware? Does anyone use pans with the circles on the bottom with their flat top? Any opinions. Thanks in advance for any help.

  1. Yes I use my old Club Aluminum on my stove and they work fine. I think to get the best heat evenly throughout the pan ,the manufactures recommend that you have flat bottom pans. I just move it around from time to time while cooking.

I love my new stove but it took a little time for me to get use to it. So easy to clean. I hope this helps you. Good Luck!

I did have problems with my Pressure Cooker Canner, It just won’t heat it up enough. So I have a burner unit I bought just for that.

  2. If your flat top is like mine that cookware should pose no threat to the top. They should not scratch the surface. The worse thing I have found on the top is using a Scotch-Brite scouring pad or sink cleanser with pumice in it. Always use the Cook Top Cleaning Creme to keep the glass top clean.

The glass top does fatique over time or will get broken by the errant dropped pot and will need to be replaced. It is a very easy fix and cost less than $120.00 to get done.

I was using a gas range before moving to this new home with a glass flat top. The gas cooks much faster. So my experience is that I "feel" like it takes longer to cook. WOK cooking isn’t as pleasurable because the cook top doesn’t get as hot as the gas and doesn’t transfer heat to the Wok as well.

It is easier to clean, no doubt about that! Enjoy it!
