What is the maximum gallons per minute (gpm) for a kitchen faucet that you can buy? What Brands/models???
Looking for a good kitchen faucet with the maximum gallons per minute (gpm) for more water volume.
Currently have 2.0 gpm faucet.
Any brands/model numbers would be appreciated as well as stores where they can be located.
federal government regulates how flow rates are required to be. You’ve got the max now pretty much but you may find a 2.2 gallon. Whoever said to take the water saver out had the best idea. Take the aerator off the faucet and inside that there should be a disc, maybe plastic, maybe metal. It has a hole in it about the size of a pencil lead, remove this and flow will increase.
Your household source gpm flow rate will ultimately limit the flow rate. I would guess that anything more than a 5 gpm faucet will not increase your faucet flow rate.
try niagra falls just kidding i dont know.
It will truly depend on which state (or country) you live in. Some sytates have set regulation on max GPM for faucets, toilets and showerheads.
Take a second and ask wether what you are seeking is better pressure or more water.
With good pressure it is unlikely that you would notice the difference between a 1.5 GPM and a 2.5 GPM unless you do a lot of cooking and are trying to fill large pots. There the volume will become apparant.
With poor pressure, upgrading the faucet aerator may not give you a noticable difference as the pressure drop may be due to the piping.
One other thing to consider is the cost to you the consumer for water service. Recently NYC raised there fees twice in 1 year, the first a 32% increase followed by a 25% increase at the beginning of the new year. For a single family home that translates to a jump from $28 a month to $55 a month rivaling an electric bill.
Water conservation, particularly in an urban enviroment may become a third major utility expense in the near future.
take the areator off the faucet. they unscrew. take the parts out but try too keep the screen in place. screw it back on
