The bathroom tub faucet only gives out cold water no hot, any suggesstions on getting it working?

Water only comes out on cold, but when turned to hot no water comes on. We bought the home like this, so we have no idea what may be wrong.

  1. If it is a single handel faucet, the ball may be installed wrong. Remove handel, then cover ring. Pivot ball should come out. Turn ball and insert. replace ring and handel.

    Turn off water at supply before doing anything.

  2. Do you have hot water every where else in your house? If so just buy a new faucet. they are easy to install.

  3. parts of old gaskets break loose and plug up orifices, usually hot first

    The faucet may be faulty. If it is a really old house with hard water, the pipes may be full of sediment. If the rest of the faucets in you house run correctly, you probably have a faulty faucet.
