what are good accent colors for my kitchen?

Currently, my kitchen is white. The cabinets are dark brown. What colors would be good to accent my kitchen? What can I do to make it look modern? If my cabinets are dark brown wood, what kind of knobs and handles should I buy for a modern look? Any insight would be great!

    brushed nickel

  2. Have you considered painting the cabinets white to give you a fresh palette? If you don’t want to paint them, maybe you’d like a cool stencil job… And don’t feel restricted by knobs and handles you can find in a hardware store. Think about small ceramics trinkets (I’ve seen roosters, strawberries, turtles, and even hearts) screwed into or adhered to cabinets as pulls and knobs. Red, yellow, and orange are great selections as accent colors. But don’t rule out jewel tones like cobalt blue, emerald, ruby, amber, and even black for a modern, contemporary feel. Good luck!

  3. Hmmm… I’m just throwing an idea out here but have you ever considered citrus fruits. Okay I know it sounds crazy but what about yellow walls with random pops of orange or green. For the knobs try stainless steel it would look really good especailly with stainless steel appliances.

  4. The most appetizing colours in interior decorating for kitchens and dining rooms are suppose to be red and yellow. So you could try anyone of these.

  5. mine just got repainted red and gold, and i love it.

  6. i like green for some reason but alot of people r putting oranges, reds, and yellows in their kitchens. as for hardware, i think crome knobs would be a wonderful pop to dark wood cabinets.

  7. Dark brown cabinets are classic, and white is neutral. I would head to a department store -I’m thinking Target – and take a look at the colors and accessories that are "in" right now. Check out the dishes and the kitchen knick-knacks and see if anything strikes your fancy.

Look at the knobs and handles at Lowe’s or Home Depot. For a modern look, go for a sleek elongated style, or a chunky, geometric desisgn in silver, a brushed pewter, or a chrome look.
