what kind of stuff should we buy for our one bed room apartment. one bedroom.livingroom, kitchen, bathroom?
hello me and my fiance are planning on moving to a one bedroom apartment, it has a kitchen, livingroom, bathroom and one bedroom, what would some things be to get for this apartment, i mean we had a studio apartment, but it had some problems, we really didnt have anything, does anyone know any places we could find free furniture at or low cost furniture, in deleware county, thanks, any suggestions?
Not sure about your specific area, but Goodwill or Salvation Army is always a good place to look for gently used furniture at a great price. You’ll definitely want a couch, end table, coffee table, lamps….almost all of these things you can find at Goodwill, as well as artwork, decorations, etc. They have a great supply of things you may need at extremely reasonable prices. Good luck!
Look.
Don’t rent. If your looking to rent, you’ll be paying off that persons mortgage.
We are in a recession, houses are cheap. Buy a unit, an apartment, a one bedroom house.
Buy a run down place, renovate, and invest.
Once your sick of that, in 5yrs, then buy a better place. Rent that place out. Then they’ll be paying your mortgage,
You’ve probably looked at buying?
Yes, you can probably afford something bad, we couldn’f find anywhere nice either.
Remember, your not looking for a home. Remember that. You can settle down, But remember this isn’t your destination.
And with furniture?
Don’t go nuts.
Go second hand – Ebay, Trademe etc, They are much cheaper.
list:
bedroom: Bed, draws, heater (maybe), storage
bathroom: towels, mat, products
laundry: washing machine, drying rack, $2 pack of pegs, basket
kitchen: BAR fridge. Don’t get a good fridge, get a bar fridge. Not until your comfortable, should already have a oven, Appliances, e.g pots and pans and cutlery.
If your located in england, save a 15k deposit,
New zealand/AUS 20k, (remember US and GBP currency is worth more than the southern hemisphere currencies)
And US? Not a clue, but considering right now with their situation, would recomend about 15-20.
And ask your family about old family. In new zealand, we have an "inorganic rubbish colection", where people dump their stuff on the side of the street they dont want. So people keep them.
Fish around.
Put up an add even on social network of flyers, cheapest way to market.
Been their, done that.
