where to buy silver cookware?

I want a handled boiling pot that holds 20-30ozs minimum that is entirely fine or sterling silver. I am having a hard time finding one online. The few ones I see are antiques or in real bad shape.

Are there any companies (american or european) that still make real silver cookware?

  1. I have never heard of cookware made of silver. So, I googled it. You better have deep pockets. Found an article from 2000 that mentioned a store, Thomas Goode, in London England that was selling solid silver cookware. It said 895 for a frying pan, and since the article was written for a British newspaper I’ll assume it meant 895 pounds. That would be about $1428.00 in US dollars today. And the price of silver is higher now. In 2000, it was about $5.15 US. Today it was almost $30. So if the cost of the raw material now is almost six times what it was then, I think we can safely assume that the price of something made from it has gone up at least six times. That would make a silver frying pan sell for around $8500 US today, all else being equal. Couldn’t find any cookware at all on the Thomas Goode website but it might be worth emailing them.

I’d say the reason you’re not finding them is that A) they are and have always been a very high end luxury item so there never were many around, and B) people tend to hang on to things that were very expensive, especially if they perform well. Something made of solid silver isn’t going to wear out in a hurry.
