cold water faucets on both sinks in bathroom wont turn on?
Yesterday the inspection on the house we have a contract on to buy said that both of the two sink faucets in the master bathroom wouldn’t turn on for the cold water.
The hot water worked fine in both, but not the cold. The faucets appear to be original 1980 faucets. could they be "frozen" shut by mineral deposits over the years? The cold water supply was on.

First check the strainer/aerators.Then under the sink loosen the bottom nut on the supply lines have a rag and a basin ready if the water squirts out then the supply valves are OK. Repeat for the top nuts on the supply line. If Still Ok the problem is in the faucets or there is a shut of remote.Shut off the cold and check the faucet for debris by disassembling them.
The hot water came out fine so the aerator is not plugged.
There may be a common valve in the cold water piping that controls the two sinks that might be off. If there are shut-off valves under the sinks, check to see that the cold is turned on at that point. The next check would be to turn off the water to the house and remove the stem from the shut-off valves under the sink. Have a pan and some rags and sponges ready. Turn back on the water to the house just enough to get a slight flow and see if water is coming out of the shut-off valves. If you get water out of the valves, reassemble and turn off. Then disconnect the supply lines to the faucet. Turn the water on at the shut-off and see if water comes out the supply line. If it does, reassemble the supply line and remove the stem from the cold side of the faucet and check for flow.
