how to break in a cookware set?

i just bought a 12 piece set kitchenaid hard base red cookware set with metal covers do I need to do anything special to use them for the first time. i got them on a deal at Amazon.com the paperwork that camp with them is not for the set i have. it is for a similiar set so im not sure what applies
