If I buy a water filter and put it on my faucet can I drink the water in Mexico?

Haha why do you people keep saying that I can do this if I am in Mexico, of course I am in Mexico. The question is, can I simply buy a water filter and put it on my faucet and then drink the water that comes from it?

  1. Tap filters remove a few things like taste and odor so Depending on water quality, a three stage reverse osmosis with a thin film composite arenic removal membrane would be a good application for high quality life consumption water. The organics and non-organics are reduced to a safe level and you can produce plenty per day to fill your day travel bottles, cooking, ice, etc. These are available as counter top models great for travel. When you get home, clean with hydrogen peroxide and change pre and post filters. *Note; boiling only sends the good stuff back up and just like cooking you get a reduction of junk left behind. Bottled water is a crap shoot unless you have a 40.00 TDS meter to test it and it too inconvenient to use for ice and cooking. Also, h2o should have flavor or minerals. We get those from food so we need high quality water to transport those goodies throughout our body.

  2. good luck and tell me how it goes………

    that won’t do anything.
boil your water for 5 min, or take
those packets that contain antbiotics that
    you pour in water.

  4. I dont think so, it is not worth the risk. Montezumas revenge I have heard is not fun.

  5. only if you and your faucet are in Mexico
Sorry I misunderstood. Not a good idea though. Unless you re not near a metropolis where your water supply is over contaminated.

  6. If I wear a bonnet and sing bubble-gum hits from the 70’s, will I avoid tax audits?

  7. Not all Mexican tap water is bad. That being said, a filter will not solve your problem because the problem with the water involves the presence of parasites, bacteria, and viruses. You’ll need to boil (or better yet, buy bottled water) anything you drink.

When you are down there, do NOT order any salads or any drinks with ice in it if you are not at an American owned restaurant or a place which clearly states that they purify water.

  8. yes you can i work for Pur the company that sells the faucet mounted filters i recommend you buy the 3 stage horizontal mount to get rid of the extra lead from Mexico’s water supply also you should try our new flavored filters

  9. Yes, but but only if you are in Mexico.

It would make more sense to leave your faucet at home and take the filter and put it on their faucet. But that will only work if the plumbing fittings are compatible.

Will you get sick? Well that depends on what is in the water, and what your filter is supposed to remove.

Or you could buy bottled water like most people do.

Or you could use water purification tablets as the Center for Disease Control web site describes.

  10. You would need to be absolutely sure that the filter you buy removes all bacteria, viruses, parasites, and lead. Filters that are used in the U.S….for water that has already been filtered and treated by the city system…just are not designed to deal with the tap water in Mexico. Use bottled water like EVERYONE else does. It is inexpensive, and you can be sure it is safe.

  11. haha good question, well first of all let me tell just say i’m from mexico so u can trust me this is the truth. anyway to answer ur question yes if you buy a water filter and put it to your faucet you can drink the water, drinking directly from the phauset i would not recomend cause well it’s not america. Even better you can buy bottles of water for 5 pesos that’s like 2 quarters so i mean it’s no biggie i would say Bonafont is your best bet, it’s the best water there is i know it sounds funny but others really taste different. hope i helped good luck!

  12. I live in mexico

    i’m thirsty!
