When I turn on the hot water at my kitchen sink and then turn the cold on too much, the faucet shuts off and I have to turn it off and try again. Do I need to just go buy a new faucet? It is kinda old.

i have this bathroom faucet, the water is leaking to the bottom, it seems that it came from the hot water faucet. i can’t be sure though. some water is also dripping from the long iron stick in the middle.
