What is the best kind of cookware?
My husband and I are looking into buying some new cookware. The cookware we have now is starting to peel and isn’t holding up very well (the current cookware we have we’ve only had it for 3 yrs).
Were looking for some cookware that will hold up nicely and last a long time. I cook alot (basically every night).
So my question is what is the best kind of cookware?

I cook nearly every night too. I have just discovered how great Scanpan’s are. I use the 2 I have everynight. I got them on Ebay used but in good shape. These are not cheap pans, and are of great quality. They will last for years if taken care of properly. Hand wash only, they are not for the dishwasher as that pits the finish. The Non stick will not chip off in our food. I use metal utensils and that only barely shows a small surface mark on Scanpans. I am gentle however and generally use plastic spatulas or spoons.
Just remember, to heat the pan to hot then add a spray of oil, then the food.
The other cookware is Good Quality Stainless Steel. This is virtually indescructible. I have been using my Stainless Steel set for 40 years. Mine is not Royal but the exact quality, or often called "Waterless Cookware" as it is. (I believe Royal is at the top of the top quality brands, not sold in stores however. Usually can be found at State Fairs by vendors.) My set way back when was $400.00. So $1,000.00 now for the same set is about right. But you will have it all your life, and your children after that.
Good luck in your search. It is the one thing that is a difficult decision, as so many of the qualities are bad.
Cast Iron again if taken care of will out last us and is great cookware.
All Clad is the best. But expensive. If you want a cheaper alternative, Emerilware is a cheaper version, but still manufactured by All Clad.
There is a wonderful article on this site that goes over all the different kinds of pots and pans that are out there. After I read the article I threw out a couple of pans and went out and got a Scanpan and a few others. Hope it helps!
I cook everyday, too, and honestly, my absolute favorite brand, and the one that has held up for 20 years and counting is Club Aluminum. It’s cast aluminum. Very durable, and VERY even heating and cooking. Unfortunately, it isn’t manufactured anymore, so you have to buy it from ebay. Ebay always has quite a lot of it though. Just type in a search for Club Aluminum. And, it’s affordable.
I like Farberware, and Old cast iron.
Stainless steel is the best cookware. One of the top affordable brands is AllClad. If non stick is your prefrence Caphalon Infused Anodized cookware is the best. It does not peel and you can use metal in it. Both of these brands can be found online or at retailers like Bed Bath and Beyond. I own both and have had them for years & they still look new.
You want to look for brands with good warranty. There are a lot of expensive brands with short warranty periods. Why would a brand thats is supposed to last forever only guarantee their product for a couple years!?
