What pots work on a flat top range?

Cuisinart® Chef’s Classic™ Stainless 10-Piece Cookware Set – this is what I have on my wedding registry, but we may end up living in a house his parents rent and they just put in a flat top electric stove or whatever its called… I heard you have to be careful what type of pots you buy, some may not heat as well on that type of stove? I heard you need pots with a flat bottom, does it matter what material they are made out of? I just want to be certain because I love this set. Thanks!

  1. ANY POTS.

WE HAVE ALL KINDS OF POTS AND USED VARIOUS FLAT TOP RANGES FOR 15 YEARS OR MORE.

REMEMBER SMALL BURNERS FOR SMALL POTS..
NEVER BIG BURNER FOR A SMALL POT OR FRYING PAN.

If your pans are not EXACTLY flat, when you use them on the stove, they will actually start spinning. I have the same pans you have on your registry, all of them work GREAT!

  3. Don’t worry about it. They will just fine. Just make sure you dry the surface on the stove and pot before using. Water drops makes the pots jump. The heat starts to evaporate the water, however this causes the pots to move around when they are just put down empty ofcourse. If they are full of food the weight will not let them move.

  4. Any kind of pots-and-pan set you buy from a store will work perfectly fine with flat-top ranges.

My dad has a flat-top range and has a variety of types of pots and pans and they all work just fine. Depending on the thickness of the pot/pan, it can take a bit longer to heat, but that’s not because of the range; it’s because of the pot/pan’s thickness.

I also have a flat-top range and use metal pots with no problem at all. Avoid using glass unless it’s Corning ware, but you should avoid using glass, regardless of what kind of range.

To clean the range, use a special cleanser that is formulated for those kinds of ranges. It’s a cream cleanser and can be found on the aisle that has the spray cleaners such as 409, etc. It should be right next to the bottles of over cleaner spray. It’s not hard to find!
